A safety valve is designed for opening and relieving the excess pressure from vessels or equipment.  The Directive on pressure equipment inspection and testing PPTO (OffIcial Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No.92/2008) stipulates that the power to carry out the inspection of pressure equipment and/or protective equipment lies with the inspection body for periodic inspections, appointed by the responsible Ministry and accredited for the purpose.
